Osseo Parks are Tobacco-Free

Osseo recently joined many other cities, counties, and districts that are tobacco-free. The City Council approved its Outdoor Parks and Recreational Facilities Tobacco-Free Policy at the June 13, 2011, Council meeting. This means there should be NO tobacco use of any kind in either Sipe Park or Boerboom Park in Osseo. Signs will be posted soon stating the parks are Tobacco-Free. See more information in the Policy Maker's Guide to Tobacco-Free Policies for Community Park Systems.

Boerboom Veterans Park

Located at Central Avenue and 4th Street in downtown Osseo, Henry J. Boerboom Veterans Memorial Park offers a bandshell where concerts and performances are held during the summer months, along with movies and music in the park each Tuesday evening throughout the summer. The park is shaded, has picnic tables, and is beautifully landscaped. Large monuments commemorate the names of residents who have served in several wars. Boerboom Park is directly east across the street from City Hall, 415 Central Avenue, Osseo.

Farmers Market

Osseo Farmers Market - Local vendors sell a wide range of fresh produce, flowers and other goods. The Osseo Farmers Market is open during the summer season every Tuesday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM from July 13 to September 28 and is located on 5th Street NE off Central Avenue, just to the north of Boerboom Park, 416 Central Avenue.

If you have any questions regarding the Osseo Farmers Market or would like to be considered as a vendor, call Karen at 763-425-2624, ext. 101 or email her at kbroden@ci.osseo.mn.us for the Guidelines and Application for Osseo Farmers Market.

Sipe Park

Located in the southeastern part of Osseo, Sipe Park is home to summer recreation activities. The park has tennis courts, a ball field, playground equipment, and lights. To reserve the ballfield for your use, please contact Public Services Director Nick Waldbillig at 763-425-5741 or by email nwaldbillig@ci.osseo.mn.us.

Summer Youth Sports

The City of Osseo made the difficult decision to cancel all of the city’s planned summer recreation programs last summer, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Parks and Recreation Committee is currently planning on a schedule to bring back programming for 2021, developing a summer sports recreation program for youth from ages 2 - 12.

A separate summer recreation program is handled through the Osseo Maple Grove Athletic Association (Osseo School District). Please visit their website for more information.

Osseo Residents Enjoy Maple Grove Community Center at Reduced Rates

Swim at the Grove Cove Aquatic Center pools, play with your kids at the Indoor Playground, shoot some hoops in the Gymnasium, or put on some skates for gliding around the Ice Arena at the Maple Grove Community Center (MGCC).  Osseo and Maple Grove councils worked together to provide reduced rates so Osseo residents have two great ways to save money while taking advantage of the recreational opportunities offered at MGCC.

One option is a reduced rate on a single or family annual membership.  Both All Building and Pool memberships are available.  The discount is available by signing up for the membership at Osseo City Hall and to pay in full.
