Creative Kids: Explore Art & Reading

Young children (ages 2-5) and their caregivers will join friends and neighbors in the opportunity to use a variety of art materials and processes to learn and create. Each class starts with a story that will lead into the project and get the creative minds flowing. Parents have no fear letting your child create art and get messy - the mess stays behind and you and your child get to bond while creating a fun art project to take home.

Fee per class $17.50 for Osseo residents; $25 for non residents. Take all five and get $25 off!

All classes take place at Osseo Community Center, 415 Central Avenue, Osseo, MN 55369
Class time 9:00 – 10:00 am. Minimum of 6/maximum of 12 students per session - not including parent.
Visit the Osseo Library after class for even more reading fun!

October 19. Crazy Construction - Parents will help their children construct crazy structures using carboard, bottles, straws, paper, and other recyclables. This is a fun class that allows children to tape glue or staple (with parents help) items together in a fun and creative way all while exploring some basic principles of architecture.
October 26. Exploration Painting - On a large roll of paper kids and their parents get a chance to paint with bubbles, their feet, string, and other unique objects. This is a fun activity that gets little ones moving while creating a joint piece of art. Class will be outside, weather permitting.
November 2. Model Magic Monsters - Kids and their parents will have time to play with, mix, and form the clay into fun little monsters that they will take home at the end of class.
November 9. Painting on Canvas Panel Boards - We will paint simple images that are bright and colorful on an 8 x 10 canvas panel. Parents can help their children or just watch and enjoy as their kids create.
November 16. Last Session - Open art exploration using left over supplies and some direction from the instructor. Allows kids more time to explore what objects and supplies they enjoyed most.

Although registration is also offered through Revolutionary Sports, Osseo residents must register through the City to recieve the subsidized "Resident" registration rate.

Evening Skill Building Classes

Revolutionary Sports leads fun and instruction-based programs that teach participants how to play sports better. RevSports programs maximize the time that a player spends developing individual skills. Programs are offered over a six week (once a week) class format. The program starts with an active, skill-based warm-up; transitions into a fun, more challenging game; and ends with an age-appropriate small-sided scrimmage. Focus is on individual player development and helping each player at their own ability level become more confident with the necessary skills of the game. All ability levels are welcome. Age group overlap allows students to self-select the appropriate program intensity.

Evening classes are offered at the following instructional levels:

  • TotStars: Ages 2-3, Parent-Child Classes (Soccer, Baseball/T-Ball)
  • PreStars: Ages 3-5, Parent-Child Classes (Soccer, Baseball/T-Ball)
  • KinderStars: Ages 4-6, Parent-involved classes (Soccer, Baseball, Flag Football)
  • MiniStars: Ages 5-8 (Soccer)
  • MightyStars: Ages 6-9 (Flag Football)
  • Skill Stars: Ages 8-12 (Tennis, Flag Football)

Multi-Sport Day Camps

Multi-Sport day camps are designed to teach kids the fundamentals so they can play a game in 20+ sports over the course of a full-day camp week. View a sample itinerary at www.pla-it.com/camp All equipment necessary is provided. Campers should bring a water bottle, lunch, and plenty of morning and afternoon snacks.

Camps are offered in a Full Camp format with structured programming scheduled over a 6 hour full-day period, 9 AM-3 PM, with a one hour lunch down time. Younger campers register for a Sports & Activities Camp with games, projects, and educational activities in the afternoon. Older campers participate in activities throughout a full day Sports Camp. Full Day Camps in June and August include a Friday Field Trip to a Twin Cities destination (e.g., AirMaxx Trampoline Park, Conquer Ninja Warrior, etc) (transportation provided).

A Half Day Camp ends at 11:30 am, before lunch. Camps allow for flexible registration options such as individual days, half day, or full-day registration.
