Blue Bag Organics curbside composting offered by Randy’s Sanitation

Randys Blue Bag Organics Garage Cart
The Blue Bag Organics program provides curbside food waste recycling alongside your regular trash collection. Just separate your food waste & household compostables (no yard waste, please!) into the provided Blue Bags for composting, close the bag tightly, and drop it into your cart alongside your household trash. In 2016, Randy’s agreed to offer this service to Osseo residents at no additional charge.

The Blue Bags will be separated from other trash at Randy’s facility, and will send them to an industrial composting facility. Once a year, participants will receive a coupon for a free bag of the compost created from food waste.

In addition to the fruit and vegetable scraps that can be composted in a traditional backyard compost pile, the commercial composting Blue Bag program accepts meat and bones, dairy products, paper plates & cups, and even dryer lint! Because of the wide variety of items composted, most households see a dramatic drop in their household garbage when they start to participate in organics composting.

American families throw out approximately 25% of the food they buy. Participating in the Blue Bag organics composting program will keep this waste out of the garbage stream, and put it to use as compost for local yards and gardens. When food waste ends up in the landfill, in creates methane gas, which is 25 times more powerful in global warming as carbon dioxide.
Signing up is easy. Just call Randy’s at (763) 972-3335 to talk to a representative. Your year’s supply of Blue Bags will be delivered to your house so you can get started recycling right away.
